New training simulator gives extra angle to learning

Virtual tractor driving is a reality with our new training simulator at our purpose-built facility.

Funding from the Mains of Loirston Charitable Trust has let us buy one of the latest simulators.

It allows learners to gain experience in operating tractors and forklifts, as well as excavators and dumpers, before actually jumping on the machine.

Training is a catalyst to encourage and promote the skills required to support industry and growth within the economy.

Our pre-apprentices and new entrants to the industry have always been a priority for the business. It is important they can work safely and effectively from the time that they arrive on site.

The new training simulator aligns perfectly with our training and development facility next to our headquarters in Laurencekirk as it gives young people an opportunity to familiarise themselves with a range of machinery.

Part of the purpose of the facility is for schools and colleges to be able to give students a taste of different industry sectors and learn about the wide range of career opportunities available.

We are extremely grateful to the Loirston Trust and will be providing more opportunities for young learners to use the new piece of kit, with the simulator accessible at various career fairs, shows and other relevant events.
